Introduction of FLICAM

Fule International Ceramic Art Museums (FLICAM) is composed of a main exhibition hall and exhibition wings. It also includes many ceramic museums for different countries or regions and many multi-functional facilities.
The program for each of these museums starting from inviting ceramic artists from that country or region to Fuping and work there for a period of time, say two to four weeks, part of their work will donate to the museum to be the initial collection of that museum. FLICAM will then commit to build a ceramic museum for that country or region. Then a resident program will follow yearly and two artists from that country will be invited (not same time) and work each year for two months period and part of their work will be added to the collection of that country's museum. It is hope that all the work done will reflect China's culture, tradition or even its landscape of the great northwest. Through this process, museum achieve the culture exchange purpose between China and that country through ceramics.
The main museum hall and wings and the residents' living quarters and studio are built in 2004. Then the Documentary Museum, the French Museum and the Scandinavia Museum will be build in 2005 and artists from these countries will be invited to Fuping to do ceramic work. Other museums such as the NCECA Museum of USA, the Australia Museum and the Contemporary Chinese Museum are scheduled for 2006. Other countries such as Great Britain, Germany, Africa, Asia, South Europe, Eastern Europe are under consideration.
